MiFId ii, investor relations, and the evolution of corporate access



Capital Access Group found that 95% of the investors surveyed in their 2017 study indicated that following MiFID II, they were either “unlikely” or “not at all” likely to “pay for meetings with companies arranged by brokers.” Regardless of the discrepancy between how investors have utilized the sell side for corporate access historically and how they intend to do so going forward, the reality remains that corporates and investment managers continue to place importance upon direct interactions in their decisionmaking processes.
